Each Extraction Control (ExC) contains inactivated whole-organism mix designed to mimic real-world clinical samples and challenge nucleic acid extraction workflows.
The RPExC is designed to emulate nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal specimens by combining inactivated whole-cell respiratory bacteria with enveloped and non-enveloped viruses. It provides a rigorous test of nucleic acid extraction efficiency across pathogen types with different lysis profiles. RPExC is especially useful in respiratory panel validation, ensuring reliable detection of both DNA- and RNA-based respiratory targets in clinical diagnostics.
